Annette O. Brown
Annette immigrated to the United States of America, from London England, with her parents and soon after decided to acquire a degree in Information System Management at York College, C.U.N.Y. Before graduating she was hired to manage a local area network for a real estatecompany. After a life changing prayer she became a born again Christian and acquired a drive to seek her purpose in life. She became motivated to inquire about the requirements for becoming a teacher and this lead to her career in teaching. She began a career working for the New York City Department of Education and also acquired a Master of Science in Education at Bank Street College of Education.
Annette took a Math Leadership degree and became a Math Coach. Later she interviewed for the role of United Federation of Teachers, Teacher Center – Math Staff developer, was hired and worked in this role for over fifteen years. She has had many high points in her teaching career. In 2018 she was hired as a member of the NYS Early Learning Task Force to collaborate with other educators and stakeholders regarding the NYS Learning Standards.
Currently, Annette is a part of Jesus Makes The Difference Ministry - a domestic and
international ministry. For over twenty years she was an active member of Springfield Gardens United Methodist Church. During this time, at Springfield UMC, she completed a two year certificate course in Christian Ministry with New York Theological Seminary. In addition, she volunteered for overseas missions to Jamaica and also joined other ministries that formed missions teams for communities in St. Vincent, Jamaica, British Virgin Islands, Accra-Ghana and Rustenberg, South Africa.

Annette Brown embarked on a life journey of Christianity, over 20 years ago. A reflective educator and avid constructivist, reflection has been a part of her daily work and a tool for personal growth and assessment. Birthed out of this practice is reflection connected to divinely inspired insight and revelation. Her first book "Encounters and Reflections - Can you hear me now?," encompasses these perspectives through a lens of story telling and photographic images.
